To human is to explore

I have been using AI for a while to build things. I have built quite a lot of things using it and I will continue to do so, simply because it saves me so much time to build and solve problems. Something that would have taken me days to solve, now takes mere minutes. And that is actually very cool!

But there is a problem with AI. It can become too addictive. There was a time when I felt so attached to using AI for everything that I started to ask it questions and suggestions to make my product better. It suggested a lot of things. I asked multiple LLMs and they all said the same things. I thought to myself, "Hmm… So many LLMs are saying this same thing. It must be true!"

And I started to build more and more and more around that idea. It piled on. Sunchay became a mess of a product. Simply because I shut off my brain and let the AI direct me as to where I should go and what I should build.

It was about 3-4 months later that I realized how incorrect I was. It dawned on me that building something should be done yourself. You are the one building it. The AI is just an executor.

I literally thought that AI was smarter than me because it was trained on all of human knowledge across the entirety of time. I failed to realize that I was the pilot. The AI was the copilot. Why was I adamant on making the AI the pilot so badly?

The moment I decided to take control over the things I built and the direction the products took, things started to change. The world started to appear calmer, the colours became brighter. I could stop and think. Oh how much did I miss thinking!

I realized then that the purpose of human beings is to explore. We are wanderers. We are curious beings. We are the ones that taught the sand how to remember and think. Why would it be that we suddenly forget how to do that?
